Bloom size seedlings of this compact species from Brazil. Flowers are large for the plant size and have the potential to be coerulea (blue) from this cross.
This species is similar to the closely-related Cattleya walkeriana but differs in leaf count per pseudpbulb. It prefers a very free-draining substrate or even better, a mount. It benefits from reduced watering in winter, which helps initiate flower production.
